Hey guys, so my battery was dead, I put a jump box on it, it fired up and after about 10 seconds there was a large puff of air and it shut off. When I turn the key on there is no lights on the dash, things like windows and locks don't have power but the stereo still works. Seems like something popped somewhere controlling most of the power but I have no clue where to start looking. Any ideas?

 

Is the battery fully charged and have you had the battery tested.

 

Also check for corrosion on the +/- leads.
Another thing to consider after all these things is the fuse box.

 

I bad ignition switch can cause your battery to run down and the other symptoms you describe.
