Default My Dealer Said NO!

I went to my local dealer today to have my torsion bars turned in the front (just to level me out) and after keeping it for 3 hours, I got a call from the service guy saying they wouldn't do it!

What?!?

He said it was unsafe and GM has banned dealerships from doing it.

What?!?

So I get down there and he hands me this 3 page booklet from GM straight off the printer, basicly stating turning of the bars compromises ride quality and affects center of gravity and safety, so it will no longer be avail as a service from the dealership.

WTF.....

So guy gave the 4 wheel alignment for free and didn't charge me anything. ok, I guess that was cool, but what about my BARS!

Anybody else been told this yet?

just do it yourself...it'll take you 5 minutes. GM prolly got sued from some idiot who had their keys turned then flipped while taking a turn at 70 mph. there is NO COMPROMISE IN RIDE QUALITY!!!

Who wants a vehicle that leans one way while sitting still, it just looks like something is wrong. An easy fix is never fill the gas tank all the way...

My 06 H3 was leanig to the driver's side, on;y when the gas tank was full. Now my 07 H3 is perfect, so somewhere GM figurred out how to get the Hummers level, either that or I just got lucky the second time around.

I fixed my lean with the torsion bars. I took a yard stick and uses various references on the body to level it out and fix the lean, WITH the gas tank full

But Trey, I had the same issue. It seemed to have resolved itself once I raised it up a bit.

I adjusted the torsion bars on mine like 3 weeks ago. Mine was leaning to the left. Once it hits 500 miles I'll take it in for an alignment.

You may want to take it sooner than that. Most on here suggested taking it soon as possible when I did mine.

How bad does adjusting the torsion bars affect the mpg?
