Don't get the H2 trade it in for a newer H3, all trucks have problems once in a while.I prefer the 3 offroad its smaller and can fit on narrow trails, I'm saying that cause I own the 3. As for the FJ guy bye bye. Those things are so plastic and cheap inside.

The days of the completely trouble free vehicle are gone. I had a Jeep, a couple of Hummers, BMW, Dodges, Chevys - all had something or other that p---ed me off. Nothing beats the Lotus for fun ... and repairs, thought I do race it on the track and that is tough on any vehicle. Come to think of it, even older cars had problems - I seemed to be replacing the clutch and tires on my '69 Chevelle SS 396 far too frequently - must have been poor design

Good post CCMDoc! I was sorry to hear about Mr_Pat's problems (hopefully they are getting fixed), but you are absolutely correct-there are no trouble free vehicles. I had a GMC Jimmy which had 6 major recalls in less than the 6 years I owned it, yet I now own the GM Hummer (and love it!). I've had Toyotas with no problems at all (my 1989 SR-5 pickup had the 22R engine which was still tight after 103,000 miles-not aoil dripleak anywhere), while a friend had one which ended up the shop several times. One thing I would always caution is buying a new vehicle in the first year of production. Let the manufacturer get the "kinks out"-but that doesn't mean the second or 3rd year vehicles will not have problems. I would NOT be looking at the Alpha right now for example-I would want to see how things panned out with the new engine before I would buy.

HEY!!! I fit on the Samari trails at Wharton........ and we didn't end up having to move that tree so I could make a left.

You know what FJ stands for right?

I'm sorry to hear about all of your troubles Pat. I don't think anybody has had their car at the dealer more then I have. I think I'm going on 10+ times already, but I'm still stubborn and won't trade it in. I just put too much time into it, and if I want to go fast, I'll buy a sports car

I hope they fix EVERYTHING. Make sure they order the parts before you bring it in. They'll probably make you bring it back a second time because it seems like you may need a few different parts ordered

No disrespect Muddy, just ribbing you. First it was a road we had to build for you in Beckly, now a tree we had to move, that's all I'm saying...lol.

I just got back yesterday from a round trip (NJ to AL/Mobile) (AL to NJ), no problems whatsoever. I even found a really good spot to off road down there and did it everyday for 6 days. The only problem I have is the rattling, which will be fixed soon.My AC kicked ars going there and back. Even during offroading with the heat index at 110, no problems or complaints from the crew( my kids and niece/nephew). We had a blast.
Hey importkiller, just got "permission" from the wife to look into an ALPHA. We'll see what happens in the next year. Her only complaint with the H3 is the acceleration, would you believe that?[sm=badbadbad.gif]
