My Aug Road Trip With 06 H3 (what a POS)

So I have done a few short trips in my 06 H3 (4-8 hours) over the last year of owning it with no real problems to speak of. This Aug me the wife and the two kids (ages 2 & 8) did a real trip from WY to New England. 1800 miles each way over 16 days It was a 3 day drive each way. My A/C went out when I got to western mass and I brought it in and they said it was a bad resister and a burnt wiring harness. The parts are back ordered across the country. I called about 4 or 5 different dealerships and no one could get the parts. When I was filling up is was checking all the fluids and I see the power steering was very low… its leaking from the hoses… next, a couple of days later I am getting the red light on the on-start status indicator and some times the phone nor onstar wont work. I am also occasionally getting a stability control failure on the dash maybe 3 out of 7 times when I start the h3. Now to top it off When I go over a bump I here a rattle noise front the back… The rear cargo door is loose. Now to really **** me and the family off I have to drive back to WY 1800 miles with no AC it hit 102… the God damn H3 is just less the one year old with 23,000 on it and I am having this many problems… What a POS, I am now back in WY waiting for the parts to come in to my dealership in Denver (about 110 miles away) so I can get my rig fixed… AHhhhhhh

that sucks, but it just looks like the air is the only real breakdown......leaking power steering hose could have been loosened anytime....probably just a loose clamp...the traction control is nothing more than a loose connection at the t-case...has happened to most older 06 h3 owners at one time or another. ...why any dealer wouldn't be able to fix this in 5 minutes sounds strange.Loose rear door...have never heard of the rear door loosening? That's odd. SO basically the only real problem you are having is the blown AC..that just so happened to die on you whie driving cross country...crappy timing...YES but to label the truck a POS because of that is kinda rough.

good luck on the repair.

I know, just bad timming.... I am still loving the H3. I tried to trade it in for an Alpha but we were about 100 dollars a month off on the payments.... I own 20,000 for it and I got them down to 39500 on the Alpha. maybe next year.

air2air...your a azz and a troll.......your much better suited for an FJ...you couldn't handle a Hummer.

BTW....when you pick up your FJ, go look at the dealerships service department...I PROMISE YOU every bay will have a truck in it getting repaired.....but how...I though import pos NEVER BREAKS DOWN.....lmao

Totally... I love my h3. The only thing I would trade it in for would be an Alpha H3 or an H2

From your other posts it looks like you are going the H3 route, you're making a good choice. Post pics asap and maybe we'll ignore this post in the future or we can at least look back on it and laugh.

My last three cars (all cars, all import, no offroading) went to the dealer a combined 1 time for warranty repairs in the last 11 years. My H3, and I love my H3, has gone into the dealer for the following in the four months I've owned it: dead battery on delivery (actually replaced by roadside service on day 2 of ownership); non-functioning high beam headlight (wiring issue); non-functioning turn signal (they broke it during headlight fix); steering shaft fix (the one that doesn't fix it, real fix scheduled); worn out u-joint and crossmember; unknown rattle (was missing skid plate bolt though dealer blamed aftermarket exhaust); rebalancing of tires (spare wasn't balanced); and will have to go in soon for the aforementioned steering shaft fix and the new rear gate loosened rattle).

Of course, being fair to GM let me add the following: I've replaced the front driveshaft once as I bent it (so now I'm on my third one since the u-joint is part of the drive/prop shaft); I've bent my nerf bars (replaced them with rock rails); blown out a tire with a hole the size of a golf ball; put a nail in another tire.

I'm not condeming GM or saying go import, just showing you what I've put up with so far. I hope the repairs, both warranty and self-induced, stop soon.
