they are adding a black plastic cover to take care of the problem.

I am amazed with all the various possibilities I am discovering, and the look on the dashboard is mind blowing!!

I paid 3500€ installed for the system including two PIONEER headrest 9' video screen.

Semi-pro!? Did I just get upgraded or something!?? I've had zero issues with those kind of installs personally and I'm a wiring idiot LOL!

 

have it properly installed then and since you're in the US don't forget to ask for the ON STAR module.
another issue:
ask the installer NOT to connect the parking brake safety because otherwise you have to stop and put the PB on before phoning or choosing a new direction.[:@]

 

Good luck finding an installer that will leave that out. Best bet is to get the bypass module for it and do it yourself. I believe there are only 2, possibly 3 wires to move after the "professional" installer has done it the correct way. Some HU's won't display the video if it's not connected properly. The bypass takes care of that I think PAC has them ....

 

I never noticed but you have an HD-1 and in the states here its called the AVIC-Z1.
I went and talked to my A/V dealer today and they told me that disabling all those moving vehicle safety features is way easier on this model than any other. On the bottom of the unit, there is a silver sticker. Under that silver sticker is a switch. Flicking that switch disables all the safety junk!
I am getting really close to ordering one..I think I am going to install it myself!
