miles per gallon

RE: miles per gallon
I'm pretty new to the forum and have been cruising the boards. I saw this with a recent post so I'm putting in my 2 cents per gallon and haven't seen a similar comparison already posted. The way I see it... lets compare an H2 against ... a Honda. The average on this post seems to be 10 mpgs (plus it makes my math easy). Lets compare against a Honda getting 30 mpgs. Lets also assume that the average driver drives 12k per year. That comes down to burning 600 gallons more over the course of the year. Although gas prices have ticked down a bit, lets futher assume gas is $4.00 per gallon. That means that it will cost $2400 more per year drive the H2 over the Honda.... less than $50 per week.. less than 1 tank (on either vehicle). Someone check my math!
Its not that much more to drive a HUMMER over a Honda and with the lower production numbers, the air isn't getting that much more clogged with polution and we're not funding terrorists on 600 gallons per year each (funding ExxonMobile executives.. maybe). On gas alone, there really isn't an argument or concern in my mind.If only the tree huggers and Greenies would put math to their argument and keep their keys off of our paint....

Seems to me like '08's get it worse than the 6.0's. I have an '08 SUT myself and my CPU currently reads 10.2 mpg. Which is basically ALL city driving, I also have 35"s with 20 in. rims. I plan on taking the spare off soon and adding performance parts. Maybe it can bump up a little bit with that.

I got an 03 h2 suv. all stock. but has roof lights and spare tire carrier. I do mostly highway driving. I cruise between 65 and 70. I get 12.3 on highway. it has about 81,000 miles. I have never change the spark plugs yet. But when i do it should definetly increase.

Dang I would thing you would get like 9mpg on city with that supercharger. How much do you think you would get on the Highway?

Agree ... however you will burn 800 Gl more than Honda .... equal to $3200 @ $4 x gl ... that's about $100 X week
Anyway I feel better when I look to the Honda from the high
