Default Mileage For Front Brake Change?

Approaching 43K on 2009 H3 and wondering about when the fronts will go (without pulling the wheels to look yet). When did yours ~go with just normal city/hwy duty?

55,000 ish. Then back rotors and brakes at 110,000. Front brakes are next @ 120,000.

That seems hard to judge on just mileage... every driver is different in the same environment and conditions.

Easiest way to check, in your spare time, pull the tires off and take a look. If the brakes look good, what better of a time to clean the backside of the wheels. Nothing like spoiling your baby

Seems like about 50k is the target....I plan to order the ceramic pads just to have them available & change before winter hits or upon indicators. Definately dont want to be changing the brakes when it starts to snow!

Recommend Rock Auto? Like to order the Raybestos Durastops Ceramics.

I agree with WDS completely. Best way to know is to look for yourself.

NAPA Safety Stop pads are OE equivelant and only run $52 per axle. Very minimal brake dust and perform like OE. Two year warranty. Put these on my H3 last fall and they work great.

NAPA also has Ultra Premium pads ($72 an axle) that have more ceramic in the matrix and are guarranteed for life. But common sense tells you that if the pads aren't going to wear much at all, then the rotors will.

I just went and picked up pads yesterday.. The inner pads on the front are just about to the indicators... I only have 54,000 on my rig.. I am easy on the brakes, but I picked it up with 47,000 on it, so I dont know about the previous owner... I would say if you are not sure, pull the tire and look, only takes a few minutes...

57K original pads, but I have all the replacements and waiting for it to cool off before doing the deed.
