Yes they usually leave the common bile duct there because the right and left hepatic ducts, which forms the common hepatic duct, joins with the cystic duct to form the bile duct. Which is why you still have the head of the pancreas. Take care you two.

Dude, your new truck would make a pretty kick-*** off-road hospital bed. Good to see you back on here Impy, was getting worried there for a while!For what it's worth I've had my fair share of gastro issues in my days, nowhere near as bad as what you are going through but I've been through some of those procedures you mentioned.. . I feel ya dawg, you got my deepest sympathies and I hope you get well SOON!!!!!! If for no other reason than to enjoy those 11 inches of lift that Dodge monster of yours came equiped with :-)
