member ranks
So now "Hummer Guy" Brian is asking me what's up with the new ranked names. I definitely don't want to push him away from the site. I told him it was something we did for fun that we didn't realize people would take so seriously, but mentioned his rank specifically.
What is it with this? I mean, come on. Even I wouldn't give a **** about what my name was. [&:] and of all people, you'd probably expect that from me.

Yup. I just don't understand what the big deal is. Do you? I've gone across is a thousand times in my head and can't for the life of me figure it out other then they are too sensitive and think somehow they are being publically denounced considering the amount of knowledge they believe they possess. It's just getting old already. I feel like saying GROW UP! but of course that would spark an all-out war in this place [&:]
Every site has names... so what's the ****ing big deal?? Shorty comes up with something fun.. or so I thought... we tweak it a little and for the majority... it's no big deal...
People just want to whine... Why am I a super member.... what am I a wrench....
Here's one... Why are you a bitch?

I guess everyone wanted to be a trail guide, sherpa or master wheeler. Everyone is hung up on titles so I guess they didn't want to be a backseat driver when they envision themselves as a "trail blazer" or "mud master". Unfortunately I don't think it has had the reception or effect we intended. I agree that a lot of these guys are acting like pus$#es but does anyone think we should consider changing some of the rank names to more "manly" and Hummer like names?
I am just floating a suggestion. We tried something that didn't get as warm a reception as we hoped. We actually were responding to numerous requests for something like what we did. If we could improve it and reduce the "friction" it might be worthwhile. I don't really care just thought I would throw it out there.
