Hi,
I have brought a second hand a H3 manual 2008 Adventure (Australian model) with 40,000 klms on it or 25 thousand miles for the US guys, and in third and forth it seams to have what sounds to be a gear whine (noise) at about 3 to 3,600 thousand revs its not in 5th which is weird, below 3k revs its good but after that it seems noisy not super loud but I am not sure if this is normal as I have not driven a manual one before this one

Make sure your fluid level is correct. It may be a tad low and not slinging the dear oil up and over the gears. Mine is manual and doesn't whine. I'm switching to synthetic gear oil soon just to see if it affects gas mileage.
