My shift up light doesn't always light up, any suggestions?? I tried running first gear to 20 mph (sometimes light goes on at 10mph to shift up and other times it doesn't come on at all, even if the engine is running hard and it is time to shift.

hmm..not sure. Do you need the lights? i know i know, if you're going to have it, it may as well work correctly...good point..have the dealer check it out.

 

The light is programmed to come on at the optimum time to shift for economy.It is based on certain engine parameters from the way you are driving at the moment. Try driving like you have an egg under your foot and see what happens. If you drive this way consistanty, it may surprise you with better milage. Or, just drive the way you normally do, but with more consistnacy and the the light should become more predictable.

 

I have the 5 speed, I noticed if I am just cruising real slow light comes on real early, if I am a little harder on pedal it gives higher mph to get out of each shift.
