THe underside is totally clean as I put down blankets before I drive over mud. I did look under it and the wires look fine....

...Today it fixed itself but after not being able to get it back working is not acceptable...
I really hope your kidding about the blankets.

A loose pin insideof one of theconnectors is a very likely culprit. (Fought the same thing with a 1500HD crew cab that I had). Removing the battery cables to reset a problem can give you a false answer, since even a bad connectionor bad wire can show good when you cause a surge of current to "jump" the bad pin/connector/wire, etc. after replacing the cables.

The dealer needs to use voltmeter and chase down the problem, except most dealers will just replace any associated parts instead of investing time hunting small problems.

Crushem- Good point about the surge and I bet the dealer will just replace the motor so I hope the loose connection is in the connector on the motor side and not the harness. And yes I was kidding about the blanket- I really use my wife's best towels but since she reads this ...jng1226 -Yea ,eating at the Haunted Hamburger with its on the edge, 100 mile veiw is great. It would be a great place for a Hummer meet. They do have some nice roads just off of 89A but since they have not really been used much they are narrow and would work better than any paint remover I know off. You think there is anyone in Arizona who does not know about Jerome or that race course road to it? I have done that road many times in the 85 Z51, 88Z51, 95 Z07 Corvettes and my now Z06 and it is an exciting road, the wife will not drive it with me and the first/only time she did all I heard was something like , deeth wash, or death wiz, anyway I fiqure I have owned 7 Corvettes and put a total of 1,000,000 miles total on them without an accident so I am not a danger to myself or others. The danger on the Jerome roadare the bikers who party at the bar in Jerome and the pocket rocket racers who can not drive and end up coming into you lane. I never leave my lane-that sets my limitFor those who never heard of Jerome -it is an old mining town built into the side of a mountain, very high up and with a 100 mile veiw. You wonder how the buildings stay up. Great place to visit and close to Sedona which is like Moab with trees.

Just an update. Brought the H3 to Phoenix and into Legends Hummer. They replaced the motor, is it called stator motor? Anyway, the fixseemed to work so far. I would only have the problem every 3 or 4 weeks so until I use it for a while I am not sure it is fixed for good.It was hot there in Phoenix- 112 and Enterprise rental first gave us (Hummer paid) 4wd 08 Dodge but the AC worked very poorly, then the gave us a Buick that smelled of cigar smoke (like someone was still smoking in it right then) but I noticed the right front tire was flat ( 10 psi) so the dug up a new Caddy with the North Star V8 (they said they only had the Dodge and Buick available at first). The dealership was real busy and at first the assist. service manager said if they could not fix the H3 that day they would have someone drivemy H3the 125 miles up to Prescott and take the rental car back. I just remembered how I drove rental cars when I was 21 years old and I panicked. Said, "No way, I was told it was a one day job". He was good to his word and I got it back that day.Did I mention it was hot it Phoenix! Also got to talk to a salesman about the Alpha and it seems they are going at $37k (just the Alpha package which I think does not include the sun roof and if you do any high mountain driving, and there is a lighting storm you might think the sun roof is not so cool) and I got the feeling there was still room to talk.I will be selling my H3 about a year before it goes off warranty. It does not seem like a vehicle you would want to own when it is off warranty.
