I'm glad I found this forum, lots of great ideas in here.
I've had my '09 H3 since new, and all I've done to it is a torsion bar adjustment to eliminate the factory rake. But after some searching, this is what I really want to do:

I like the amount of lift, wheels and rims this guy had, however I don't really know a lot about lift kits and what I would need. I know the above link is dead, so I didn't directly comment on that, ha.

 

I would not go with 37s of you have an I5. There are no regear options (4:56 is the stock ratio) and you will be pushing the skinny pedal to the max on the freeway. Alpha (V8) is a different story. You can go from the stock 4:10s to the 4:56s that you would find in the I5s.

 

So you're saying that it wouldn't be a good idea with the 37s because the engine would have a hard time with it? Never thought of it that way.

I'll just have to go smaller. But how can I get a 2-3 inch lift? Can I just crank the tbar again, or is that only for the front end?

 

The torsion bar is just a front end lift. Alot of people run 35s doing just that, you can get a rancho or tough country lift kit but as MU said you'd really sacrifice alot if you went to 37s...
