Left front wheel hub assembly with sensor?

Default Left front wheel hub assembly with sensor?

I was told by a certain mechanic that i need a left front wheel hub assembly with semsor to be changed
my question: How often does this parts has to be changed and what are the possibilities of it getting damaged?

08 hummer h3 167000 km

no offroad

im just asking before i agree with the guy to fix my truck that will cost me almost a thousand bucks for the fix

Left front hub & sensor are sold as one unitized piece. The price you are quoting needs to be explained please, because a timken hub for your 08 h3 will be about $200 in USA. Installation is a couple hundred bucks more.

If you are on the original hubs at that mileage you hav you done very well. Usually they last about 100,000 miles.

$1000!
Are you getting both sides done, new half shafts and a happy finish too!

Waaaaay to expensive.

Where are you located. I may drive to you and do both sides with half shafts for that price. I would still pocket some change

What this mechanic has told me left hub will be around Can$650.00 plus tAX
comes to around Can$750.00 plus the labor and tax it will be almost a thousand Canadian dollars

Note He said it is only for the LEFT front end

I think I would rather drive to the border and get it done in the US for cheaper

I just replaced my hub assemblies.
$179 each from Rockauto.com for AC Delco OEM hubs.
They have Timken assy's. for about $152 each.

See if you can supply the parts to your guy. $750 CAN is really expensive.
