Knight Rider HUMMER KITT lights - 2.0
not an Evo, its a GTS. The evo wasn't out yet when I got the lancer...and Iw ould never pay $42,000 for an little rice car with a turbo on it.....your almost in Vette territory with that price tag....horrible. Once I get done with it it'll outrun any evo on the street anyway
I've never seen a GTS. They must not sell them over here. I hardly ever see the Evo. STi's are VERY popular around here. You don't see too many of anything else other then Impreza's anymore around here.

im curious as to what you plan to do to get enough power to keep up with an evo...ive built a non-turbo mitsu engine into a turbo engine, and we ended up with around 500hp, but it was not cheap... but then again, this is a GEMA engine, not a mitsu engine..
the 08 lancers only came with the new mivec 4 banger. It's a "world" motor so it has alot of Chrysler and dodge parts in it....at least I'm not driving a 100% import..lol.I have the 5 speed manual...that cvt tranny blows chunks.Honestly I don't know if I'll be able to toast an evo, but I'll also be 10 grand less than what an evo would cost. From what inside sources in Japan say the evo's block are the same, just has added boost and of course AWD among other small things. The lancer ralliart will be priced between the gts and the evo and will have the same setu as the evo minus a few little things. This is just what I heard on various boards and can't say for sure if it's true.
I plan on waiting for the works or the RRM turbo kit or I might get the guy that built my GN motor to come up with a custom turbo setup. Then we'll have to address the trans and rest of the drivetrain. The way I look at it though, I have $20,000 to play with until I am up to the EVO price range....I don't see how it would cost much more than $10,000 to make the car close to evo in 1/4 mile times. I really like driving the car, it's fun to zip around in...BUT...I just don't see why people would spend over 40 grand on a little import when you could buy real American muscle for less. I guess I'm just not a true "tuner"

the hardest part, even if you achieve the power needed to beat an evo, will be the advantage of the evo's AWD. there are few cars in the world sold with an AWD setup that will yield such high quality handling.
the engine in your car is the same engine family and same engine code, the 4B11, as the new evo. theyre both GEMA engines, so there is a good chance that some parts will crossover, but mitsubishi has done things in the past which effects modding. for instance, the 4G63T in my laser sits the opposite direction than the 4G63T in the previous gen Evo.
the problem is that once you build a huge power FWD, traction becomes a problem...ive seen lots of high powered, boost hondas and FWD DSMs, and many of them are tire smoker specials...

I got the components today. Unfortunately one of the circuits came unassembled, meaning they sent the PCB board and the diodes, capacitors, resistors and heat sinks, but all in pieces. That's the amplifier circuit for a preamp out to the main speaker.
Anyway, it's going to take a BIG longer then I thought
but I'm going to run to Radio Shack tomorrow after work, and I should have the basic box put together tomorrow. Then I can sample the sounds and get everything hooked up Wed. and Thurs. so it should be good to go for Friday.
And, I DID get my KITT license plates

Amazingly after 2 days, it actually works. I can't freakin' believe it. I'm downloading the files to store on the chip now. I have a ways to go, but by midnight tonight, it will be done
