k&N air intake
Does anyone know if installing the cold air intake void your factory warranty? I'm thinking about installing, but want to keep the car under warranty.

Trey,
I've had extensive experience dealing with Hummer new car dealers and have found you may get different answers to the same question if asked from different service advisors and dealerships. Speak to your service "manager" face to face and tell him specifically what you wish to do and ask not his opinion but GM's warranty policy. I have been told that any changes in components effect GM warranty to where the non factory item installed is not covered (obviously) and changing a non mechanical component such as an air filter does not affect your Hummer warranty. Now, that does not mean to say that if you suffer damages and submit for warranty service that your aftermarket part can not be blamed for the damage you suffered. Kind of, if you would have not done this.....then this would not have happened. As for the K&N, I've heard nothing but good things about installing it on the H2, I don't think you'll have an issue .....just don't over oil the filter; it will kill your fuel mileage!
I do think maintaining a good relationship with your service manager and advisor makes a world of difference. Treat them with respect and kindness, get to know them personally..........it makes a difference.

Thanks for the post dennis I could not think of the act that was established. I had to use it before on another vehicle. The dealer tried to tell me the K&N filter hurt my throttle body. I told them to prove it. Long story short they replaced it under warranty.
