I went from a LS1 WS6 TransAm to a H3. It's going to take a little getting used too hehe. The previous owner replaced the two rear tires the day before I bought it with 265/75/16. The front tires are shot. I want to go to 285's all the way around. Would I need to replace the spare as well (265) with a 285? In the rare case I have a flat would it be ok to drive a short distance on a 265?


I'm debating on just buying a couple new 265 tires for the front and in the future go to 285's.

Yes, you need to have a same size spare, or you would just be carrying around an extra tire that you should never use with 3 285s, ....unless you like differential repairs.

I would buy 5 New 305/70R16s with the tread pattern that fits your driving needs. Just make the H3 look better also. Like the OffRoad vehicle it is.
