Jeeps vs Hummers...
I will admit that the journey to tower sites is a lot more fun than getting there. Bucking snow drifts and mud bogging is a lot more fun in a company truck because you don't have to worry about scratches. They expected them to be rode hard and put up wet. I wish I had thought to take pictures back in those days.
If there is anywhere my H2 can't get me than at least it has the power to get me close enough to get therewith my other off road transportation, LOL.

OK, I tried to keep out of this thread. Honestly, I did. But why is this an issue? Jeeps are NOT better than Hummers. But guess what...Hummers are NOT better than Jeeps. They're just different and they are both fantastic offroad vehicles. So are FJ's, Rovers, and a lot of other nice trucks out there. They can all go where most of the rest of the motoring public couldn't even imagine. But somehow, that's never good enough. Jeep guys want to argue that their rigs are a million times superior to Hummers. Guess what. They're not. The opposite is no more true.
Bottom line, is if you have a car and you love it, then you have my respect. I don't care if it's a completely blinged out Hummer, of a Jeep covered to the roof in mud. Makes no difference. Heck, I don't even care if you're the president of the Yugo Association of America. If that's you're passion, more power too you.
By the way, I posted this after watching some Hummer YouTube videos. Makes me sick how ignorant and petty people are over there, so it got me fired up. Also, this isn't a slam on the original message on this thread. Light hearted poking fun is good. When it becomes a 4 page debate is when it gets a little absurd.
Just my $0.02.

JR that is part of what the forum is for. Besides we are all friends here and enjoy goading each other a little. Lots of us have had Jeeps and other 4x4s and know the other vehicles well. I'm taking the H3 Alpha offroad for the first time this weekend. It will be interesting to see how it compares to my old CJs. I will post my opinion and that is all it will be. If people want to debate then so be it.
...and I do agree totally that the forum is for debating this and I fully support healthy debate. It's just when it gets to name calling, baseless and inaccurate information, and the like that it gets annoying.
Yes, I agree, I can choose not to go on the forums. And also, don't get the wrong idea. I wasn't knocking the forum at all. I really wasn't mad at anyone. My main point was just that if you love your car I think that's great, whatever it may be.

No problem. When you have been on the forum awhile and know the people and personalities a little better I think you'll see the ribbing and button pushing a little clearer. It took me awhile to figure out that some of the guys that ragged on each other the most were the best friends. I just think you were reading more into the "debate" than was in there. It is all old news and the real wheelers know that the driver and the tires make the biggest difference. Enjoy the forum.
