Default I've been thinking

Maybe F5stop can give us some info if he reads this.

The alpha h3 has higher rated t-bars (for the added weight of the v8) so I assume they can be swapped into an 06 or 07 h3 with the i5 for a slightly stiffer ride...but it would also be much much better when your running a front push bar and winch combo...it will handle the weight with no dip. Alpha also has a cast iron front diff, the i5's have a aluminum housing. I was seriously considering keeping my 06 and either supercharging it or adding a turbo kit...but there is no way the stock diffs would handle the added ponies, hell they are getting blown up with the stock motors. I'm wondering if the alpha diffs would be interchangable? That would make adding go fast parts possible. Has anyone heard anything about these swaps? I don't see why they wouldn't work.

Interesting thought. I imagine it would also lift the front a bit?

Differential:

My friend that works at the serv. department told me they would be interchangeable, but this was before it was released. He got the info from someone at Hummer I believe. We had an entire conversation about it. I don't know if the final version is though, but originally it was supposed to be interchangeable.

Off topic but I have a H3 and the wife has a Hemi Magnum! I use hers to get my speed fix!

Wasn't it the gears that fractured up front, not the AL carrier? I also thought I read they changed geometry in the front suspension to fit the V8, so I don't know about swapping T bars??

By no means a comparison but went they dropped the 6 liter V8 in the CTS the geometry was beefed up but the positioning remained the same. I used the sway bars, struts and coils from the CTS-Von my base CTS. GM likes to keep things simple and cheap. Maybe it applies here as well?

Yeah, not sure about the T-bars. But GM's own press release for the Alpha said that the front diff would be swappable into all other H3's.

The diff may bolt in but the gear ratio is different in the alpha. The alpha has 4.10 ratio and the older ones are 4.56(swap gears?). Don't know about torsion bars but the uundercarriage looks the same. Steve
