Issue with H3 Electronics
Hi all, this is about a Hummer H3 Alpha
I am having a bit of a weird issue with two problems that may be related...
1) Windshield wipers: My windshield wipers only work on the fastest speed, and stop in the middle of the windshield (meaning I have to time it to stop on the right spot as to not block my view). They also come on when the car starts even when on the off position.
2) My AC/Heat air-speed control turns off on the "4" speed....1-3 work fine but the "4" speed stops.
Does anyone have any clue what's going on? This seems to have started out of no where. I had an aftermarket gps/radio installed years ago but I highly doubt it is causing issues now.
Any input?
Thanks so much
-Buck

What year H3 Alpha????? Do you have a sunroof? Ever end up with a wet front passenger side floor?
If you have a sunroof, your wiper issues are related to a wet BCM caused by plugged Sun Roof drains. Search for the fix to plugged sunroof drains. If the BCM did get wet, all you can do besides opening up the passenger side kick plate, is hope it dries out without issue.
Your HVAC issue may also be related, but a simple check of all the fuses may first be in order. If I remember correctly, the high fan circuit is separate from 1-3 fan speeds. If your BCM got wet, anything is possible.
Last question.... Do you still have the POS OEM Battery Terminal Connectors? If so, complete garbage, the #1 cause of a bunch of electrical Gremlins as the PCM is sensitive to even the tiniest voltage fluctuations caused by bad connections to the battery. Look into replacing those ASAP to a quality aftermarket set like Stinger or your favorite brand.

Its an 08 H3 Alpha...
That may be the problem because I did notice a damp smell after a rainstorm and felt some water in the sunroof basin. I didn't put 2 & 2 together until just now.
Ill look up the drain fix and I will probably have to take it in for repairs as I am not the most car-savy.
Any idea how much a new BCM would cost + repairs?
Thanks for the input!
