INTAKE SYSTEM POPS ON A H3?
Hello everyone,
Just wondering if any of you have expirienced anything like this. I have an H3 and I installed a K&N Intake system and a Gibson cat-back exhaust system and I am having a few issues with the way my Hummer is running.
1. Everytime I turn the car off the intake system makes a pop sound as if it it releasing stored up air.
2. When I am at a stop sign or red light the engine idles really bad almost to the point that it feels as though the engine is about to shut down.
3. Everytime I run the AC I get a really weird rattle going through the dash.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

1. the POPPING sound is perfectly normal..vacuum releasing a diaphram.
2. Give your air filter a 180° turn and make sure your MAF is mounted correctly and is not getting any airleak past it..this is a MAF problem with linear airflow..or the filter may have fallen off..mine did at first and I had the very same surging and idle hesitation.
3. You probably have a refrigerant line rubbing up under the dash to the A/C coils, this is no way related to the K&N CAI...Unless you have the pipes rubbing on the intake tube...(Dealer time)
