Has anyone been able to lower the light level below the lowest level factory setting? I find the lighting distracting, even at the lowest setting. The owner's manual makes it clear that they can't be turned off, by design.
Are these lights fluorescent, LED or some other tamper proof system?

 

I wonder if you could put window tint on it? It would probably be a pain cutting it and fitting it in there but it would be easier than taking it apart and taking out some of the lights. Personally, I just wish they were a different color. I see a lot of dashes when driving at night and white is so boring.

 

Not a bad idea Motley. A moderate tint might work as long as the daytime visibility is acceptable. I like the idea of a color change, as well. Has anyone on the forum modified their instrument cluster lighting? An aftermarket kit would be a neat offering
