Need some help. Got in my 2006 H3 this morning and the door light was on and will not go off. Also when i stop the interior lights come on until i start moving again. As i start moving the lights go off and it will ding a noise. When i part the car the lights will stay on until the battery safety turns them off after 20 minutes. has anyone ever seen this and if what was the fix?

 

First thing, make sure your tailgate and all the doors are closed all the way. You either have the switch not touching a door for some reason (adjustment) or you have a bad switch. Troubleshoot each door switch individually to make sure they work taking into account the delay after you press on it. If it is a bad switch, they are easily changed out. A #20 torx driver will remove the 1 screw holding it. Unsnaps from the wiring harness, about $6.50 on the internet and $10.00 from your dealer. Good luck.

 

The door ajar was lit up on the instrument cluster of our 07 H3X a few months ago. It was under warranty so we brought it to the GM dealership. The sunroof was leaking and was making a bad connection on the front passenger door causing the light to come on. We had to get the sunroof replaced AND they had to fix the door connector. It sounds like smith says and is probably just a bad connector.

 

My 06 just had the same problem, all doors are freakin slammed shut but the stupid doors light is on, and dings every 3 minutes. WHAT THE HELL?????

 

Bad switch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

This just happened to me today. Ive noticed that the driver door is the only one that will lock and unlock by itself while driving down the highway. all the other doors remain locked.

So could the faulty switch be the driver door?

 

could be the way its programmed. u mite want to spend a few minutes in that 300 page instruction book. unless u can access the forum,daily,on ure smart fon.
