If/When Hummer comes out with a V8......
Highwinder, that's incorrect info as to why Jeep discontinued the diesel in the Liberty. I was because it was an old design and it could not pass the new regulations for diesel emissions. BTW, the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with an optional diesel which in fact does meet the new regs.
very good Sugar daddy...you do read the crap I post!!
The liberty Diesel actually sold rather well, they hit 10,000 sold two months ago and they threw a party because that exceeded teh number they were planning on selling by double! They had to discontinue it because it is near impossible to meet emmision laws. The grand Cherokee, Durango, F-150, Expedition, are getting new clean burning diesels in 2010, GM is yet to announce what trucks they will be fitting the diesels into but rumor has it that the hummer line, Tahoe, burban are all possible candidates.

I would be willing to bet that an H3 with a 4.8 or 5.3 would get better MPG than the current I-5. I am sure it would get the shut down version of those engines (which only helps a little in my experience), and with good power availible you could excelerate with less effort (and gas). My brother works at American Axle and he said they have a new H3T under a cover there... he was going to check and see what engine was in it when he gets a chance.

There has been ramblings of Hummer coming out with a V8 H3. If Hummer decides to produce a V8 H3, how many of you would trade your 5 cyl H3in for a new V8 H3 provided there's not a drastic reduction in fuel economy?
