So I happened to run into someone who sells hummer h1's he said not to bother with the h2 that's it's horrible off road and is made for soccer moms. I know that he was kinda kidding but is the h1 really that much better than the h2 in moderate off road conditions? Are they really worth all that extra cost?

The H1 & H2 roll off the same AM General assembly line. Sure the H1 is a little better for total hard core wheeling the H1's are designed to spend most of its time off road the H2 made to spend a majority of its time on road but perform better then any other production vehicle off road. And as far as "production" vehicles are concerned the H1 - H2 & Jeep Rubicon I would rate as your top 3 (maybe could throw a loaded Tourareg with air suspension, air lockers and H3 with adventure pack in their - but these configs for these 2 aren't common) . But I hate to even lump the Jeep into the same category since its 1/3 it size, it apples and oranges.

The "guy" that sells Hummers that made that common is retarded - once again its apples & oranges H1's are running in the $60,000 dollar range H2's probably average $25,000 . If he had a lot full of H2's I am sure his comments would have been very different. You have to form your own opinion based on the knowledge you can gather and make up your own mind and not let every one that makes a negative comment (mostly born out of jealousy) change your view.

I have been out with a buddy that owns a 1994 H1 to Rausch Creek off road park, and their wasn't any trail he went on I didn't with the same performance & confidence.

How many other trucks can run 37" tires stock LOL

Thank you ak I really appreciate the advise and yeah 37's are amazing stock lol. Should I stay away from h2's with 120k plus? They seem to drop off in price around that mileage

Any H2 from 03 thru 06 with 120k is good if its one owner, thats an avg of up to 15000 a yr. I like H1 but I would not pay over $45000 but that's me. For that someone who told you don't bother with Hummer. If Hummers vehicles would give us at least 20mpg, Hummer would still be in business. And I will get the H1
