Hummers built in South Africa
Abit of interesting news for something different.
I just got word today from my mate who is working at the Hummer Dealer, that theH3's that are being converted to right hand drive are being completely assembled in South Africa. In the same factory that assembles the Holden Commodores and the Holden Monaro(Your GTO coupe') for UK and Middle East. Does anyone else have info on this?
It will be interesting so see the standard of build quality compared to the direct US madeimports.

RE: Hummers built in South Africa
I just saw an article: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpag...57C0A9639C8B63 about that as well. There was an article about a new dealer (in Port Elizabeth I think) with an extensive test track to showcase the Hummer's capabilities. GM has a huge plant in PE, I lived in SA from '68 - '79 and it was there back then.. We used to see Pontiacs over there that were RHD..
