Default Hummer Off Road Event (not dial up friendly)

We got invited to an Off Road Event hosted by our local dealership. It will be held on a ranch about 40 minutes from my place, on Oct 29th. I don't know anything about the ranch where it will be held, other than it's basic location. One wheeler that I know said it might be a placed that was formerly leased by the Jeep Corp. and used to hold "Jeep Only" events out there. He said if it was that same place, that it had some good creek bottom stuff, and some impressive hill climbs, and lots of rocks.

We'll see on the 29th I guess. I've RSVP'd so we will be there with bells on. I'll be taking along the digi cam too.

Well, the event went ok. It wasn't real challenging, but I sort of expected that. The trails were too short too. But, it was fun enough. I'm sure the first timers had fun. Overall the trails were somewhat basic, and laim, but some did have some fun sections. It was more of a nice "trail drive" than "wheelin". But, the catered BBQ was great.. and waiting for us when we got in for lunch... how nice is that! Little bit of eye candy here and there too.. Heres a few random pics.

Me and another K5 wheeler I know. His H2 and our H3 at the dealer early in the a.m.

starting our way into the 2nd trail

Further along the second trail, creeping through the rocks & trees.

A nice little mud hole. I wished it was a bit longer.. but it was fun.

We all went around several times.. until the trail leader chased us off to another trail. My H3 is second in the pic.

Dropping down into another little gorge. Who's that cutie in my side mirror?

Me, twistin' it up..

Another twister..

All done, and waiting for the other groups to get back. Mine second from front.

It was fun. Like I said, it could have eithe had a little more challenge.. or a little longer trails.. but it wasn't a bad time. They even had sevice techs there for mech support. They changed one guys tire when he got a flat. But the best thing about the techs was they were in a demo H3 .. and they beat the snot out of it on the trail. The only failure they had with it, was when they blew the grill out of it blasting through the mud hole. They actually face planted it into the other bank of the mud hole.. []. Then they stuck it back on.. and later it fell off again, and they ran over it. I think they ran over it the first time too.. LOL. They packed enough mud into the horn, that you could barely hear it. [:-] LOL

I didn't hit the mud nearly as hard as they did, and I still had an engine compartment full... [:'(] I scrubbed most out today, here at my fire station.. and will hit the car wash tomorrow to blast out the rest of it. It was everywhere under there. Now I know I won't be running anything but the stock air box in it. My factory box looked like somone had dumped a bucket of muddy water on it. They do put on a good event though.. with goody bags for adults and kiddos.

It was worth th drive, and I can't think of too many other places I'd rather be on a nice sunday, than out on the trail, so it was worth going to.
