Default Hummer H3 No Start, No Crank.

2006 Hummer H3
Gotta love all the H3 electrical gremlins! Truck ran fine all day yesterday, went home for dinner and parked it, tried to leave after dinner and the truck went crazy on me. When I turned the key into the on position the gear indicator went all the way to 3 even though the shifter was in park. I was unable to move the shifter when I hit the brake and when I turned the key to start the truck the cluster shut off but the radio still remained on. I removed the shift boot and was able to manually disengage the lockout but the indicator did not show any movement. The shift linkage is intact and functional. I disconnected the battery,no change. I disconnected the battery again, left it off for 10 minutes and then held the terminals together. After that the indicator showed the truck in park but still doesn't show any movement when you move the shifter. The passlock light isn't on so I'm wondering if that's not the issue. The keyfob also quit working during all of this. Battery is at 12.5 volts and less than 6 months old. Any suggestions before I start replacing stuff?

One does not simply disconnect/reconnect battery to repair.
Does your drivers door panel windows/door lock switches work?

Sometimes all the system needs is a hard reset. This is not one of those times. Yes, it does work.

I've never used a battery disconnect/reconnect in my lifetime to repair?
Did you check all fuses?
Also, scan and post codes.

Disconnecting a battery on late model GM cars does NOTHING as they all store the last 300 ignition cycles in flash based memory, juice or no juice.
