Default hummer brushguard

I just installed a brushguard like this one on my hummer http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-08...spagenameZWDVW

And after I was finished installing it, one side was higher than the other side. So do I have do level it my self? I tried to level it by just loosening the recovery hook assemblies that the brush guard is behind, and i tried lifting up the other end but the brushguard wouldnt move. Later that night I realized that I didnt loosen the middle mounts that go inside the grille. So if I didnt loosen the middle mounts would that prevent the brushguard from moving when I tried to adjust it? I dont think the front end of my hummer is causing the brushguard not to be level. I would really appreciate anybody's help.

I have never heard of anyone having issues with leveling the brushguard.

It may be that your truck is not level.

I would measure just to make sure. Pop off your two front center caps on your rims. Measure from the center of each hub to the bottom of your fender flare. Make sure you are on level ground and no dips or rises in the cement/ blacktop.

Quite a few people (me included) have found that the truck are not level.....even straight from the factory.

If that turns out to be level, than I have no idea. As far as that center bolt holding your towhooks in place, many have drilled those out.

the truck is level. Because I measured the brushguard mount and the bumper. One side had more space than the other

I just got it back from bravo hummer from a recent car accident i had and the frame was tweaked to the right in the accident. But they straightened out the frame and I looked at it and it was aligned with the holes fine.

Well, since there is veryl little to no adjustment wher the guard mounts, either your car accisent fawked your truck up and the body shop didn;t fix it to perfect spec OR you got a carappy Ebay guard.

coreyc - there are three bolts that hold the D rings in place. Did you loosen all three? To do this, remove the bolt that holds the D rings in place. From there you will see the two normal bolts and a center Torx bolt that aligns the D rings. Loosen that center bolt a bit on each side and try to reposition your grill guard.
