Huge problems, really upset.
Hey guys -
Yesterday my 07 H3 that I purchased in August, looks like the transmission went, with only 5900 miles on it. And on top of it the dealership STILL after 4 visits hasnt fixed the grinding noise in my brakes. Ive been to the dealership a total of 5 times (one for oil change) going on 6 on Monday. I mean I love the truck, it looks awesome but what good is it if it doesn't work.. With this being my first car purchase I'm just very disappointed and frustrated. What a bad taste in my mouth. I don't want to make any generalizations about hummers because i know they're awesome, my brother who bought one at the same time same dealer as me, his runs perfect and has only been to the dealer for an oil change. Any suggestions or comments? Thanks guys..

You're in Lemon Law territory.
Demand your car be fixed while you leave it with them one last time, and let them know if it is not fixed you will be requesting a new Hummer (if you want), or contacting a lawyer.

Definitely start talking to them about lemon law, though of course research your own state laws first. Here's a thread of what another forum member recently went through: https://www.hummerforums.com/m_107221/tm.htm
FYI - those problems aren't common in the H3, or at least not commonly discussed here.

That sucks to hear, sorry to say but every car manufacture goes has problems with one every now and then, and like GarrettMoore said that where Lemon Laws come in. My Dealer experience has been great and they bent over backwards even over the littlest things. They are a few people on this forum that work for Hummer Dealers, and maybe may offer some help.
Yeah thanks guys - I'm in Long Island, New York. Each time I've brought the car to be fixed they said they were changing the steering shaft, then sanding things. However the grinding noise still persists.
I called them this morning today and said listen, I've been very nice about everything so far. I have 6000 miles on this truck and have been in 6 times already. I work and goto school. I've never taken the truck off road but only have been back and forth to work and school which is 50 miles round trip.
I also told them now the transmission went. I said I want the transmission fixed or replaced and my brakes fixed. I also said if you can't fix them we're going to have to work something out. The guy was very apologetic and said we would talk on monday.
It sucks to be inconvenienced like this because the nature of my job (Biomedical engineer at a hospital 25 miles from my house) requires me to be on call 24/7, so if something goes wrong that I cant solve over the phone, I need to drive there to fix it. Can't get there without a car haha.
The funny thing about it all is I think they knew they sold me a truck with problems because when I went in to buy the car I was like do you still have the one in white? And hes like uhh let me check and he looked and told me it was sold. And i told him I might look else where before I come back and hes like hold on one second let me check the other lot. and he came back and he had a nervous look on his face and told me he had one at the other lot with the exact options i wanted. I didn't think much of it at the time but now that I think back who knows lol.. My luck though.

You may want to try a different dealer for your next service. I haven't had to have the H3 serviced yet except oil changes but there is a huge difference dealer to dealer when it comes to H1 service. Maybe someone at the new dealership can fix what these guys can't. Hang in there.
I'm sorry you have to go through such aggrevation Nick. The Lemon Law here in New York once helped me quite nicely as it clearly spells out what options the buyer has.
I'm also on Long Island, in Suffolk. Did you get your H3 in Suffolk County?
