Sure glad us southern ontario folks have Phil. Would hate to pay that much to get a set of tires mounted and balanced.

I saw a photo in the local paper last year where an H2 was hit head on by a Jeep Honcho at speed. The Jeep went to pass someone and didn't get back over quick enough. The front of the H2 was messed up bad and the driver's door had popped out and back, but the Jeep was destroyed and the driver died. The H2 driver came out with a broken foot. Then they mentioned that the impact had skewed the H2 to the right and wacked a phone pole with the passenger rear door. I had to show the article to my wife to give her an idea of how tough her truck was. Wonder what the damage would have been had the H2 had a Road Armor bumper on it???

I have seen a few messed up H2s ( Muddy's for one ) but most survived their accidents pretty well and certainly far better than whatever they ran into.

Alien it doesn't cost $1200.00 to mount and balance tires on a Hummer rim with or without runflats. The runflat is the wildcard for many tire places.
How Strong is My H1? hmmmm... my H1 is so strong that it took a man 10hrs to change the tires. And 3hummers... you were right. It didnt cost me $1200. Nope... only cost me $1075.

i like the run flats in the hummer wheels. they are there for two reasons. 1) if the tire gets shreaded it will get you out of what ever you are in and get you to flat ground. 2) they are also bead locks just incase you run the tire pressure low to drive in sand or what ever they keep the tires from dismounting.

Mike,

How good are the run flats in an offroad situation? If you were in deep sand or mud how well would they work? Fortunately I have never had to resort to using them but it would seem they would not be that effective in a lot of situations.

i'd imagine in you were in deep sand or mud and your tire blew out it would just be like airing down and would really give you alot of traction but also would reduce your clearence but hey would still have more clearence if you didnt have runflats in the same situation.
Me Myself.... I dont run runflats the reason why... They didnt come with my truck and are currently not in my budget heh. But When I get some 2 piece wheels I might just end up buying a set.
