hi. i have just recently decided to look at replacing my Nissan PF with an H3. My budget is around 16k. I have several articles about the 06' head problem. Does this mean stay awaya from 06? Or stay away from vin sequence listed? How to know if head has been replaced previously? Local dealer has 06" with 48k bought at auction..one owner..no accidents..stay away from auction cars> look for owner only? Sorry soo many questions..looking forward to being a H3 owner..Thanks!

 

Welcome to the Forum. Funny I went looking at Nissans becaues I love my 09 Maxima and ended up with an H2. I kept the Nissan though. Sorry I can't answer your questions. Just thought it was ironic that you are trading a nissan for a hummer and that's how I ended up with mine.

 

Have a dealer run the VIN for you. If the head was replaced under warranty it will show up. A lot of auction trucks are fine. Many lease returns wind up at auction. For 16K you are probably looking at an 06 or maybe an 07 at best. Good luck with your search.
