Hey guys,

I'm planning on buying a full-size GOBI rack for my H2 next month, but does anyone know the installation process? Because as far as I know you can either mount the GOBI rack over the existing OEM roof rails with the 4.25" brackets like this :



Or you can remove the factory roof rails and install the GOBI by itself with 2" brackets like this:



My question is, I have 3 roof rails, but the rear-most one both ***** are broken, and I'm unable to remove it, therefore unable to remove any of my OEM roof rails. In order to install the GOBI rack over top of the factory roof rails (which is what I wanted to do anyways), do the OEM roof rails need to be removed at all during installation of my GOBI or can the GOBI be installed right over the OEM roof rails without removing them?

If anyone knows please respond, I'm in a bit of a bind here!

 

I couldn't tell you about how to mount the Gobi to the stock roof rails, never seen anyone do it. Honestly it looks terrible IMO. I would try anything I could to cut those bolts off and get that off.
