I want to turn my head-lights manually--NOT automatic.

Do not start the truck, the lights will stay off.

You planning a drive by? Start by driving a smaller more inconspicuous vehicle. Geez

Headlight switch. It's in the owner's manual.

Aside from the superb advice given above here, you can not defeat the auto turn on of the headlights.
The sensor on the passenger side dash is controlled by the BCM and it can not simply be bypassed.
The headlight switch is the only way to turn them off

After you turn the Ignition on, rotate the Switch counterclockwise and release.
