Default hooking up brake controller

I have to pull my tandem cargo trailer out of storage this weekend and I am going to hook up my prodigy brake controller. I know where the wires are and have the adapter, what is the best method of hook up? Should I just use heat shrink tubing?

I also checked in the fuse box and the fuse are in there. Now with my previous ford truck I had to add a relay switch, which of course was wrapped up in the glove box. Will I need one for the H3?

I used Scotch-Lok connectors -- easy and secure. No relays needed. Actually nothing at all needed beyond hooking in the controller.

Thanks, I am going to get some of those connectors. Hopefully the h3 wont have any problems pulling the trailer. I think empty it is close to 3000-3500 lbs.

Default towing

I am very interested in knowing how your H3 tows the trailer that you describe. I have an 07 H3 and am considering getting a 3500-4000 lb travel trailer.

I was surprised how nice it handled the trailer. I use to pull it with my 07 f150 which has double the towing capacity. It was very smooth and turned well. The front end did lift a bit but nothing worth worrying about. I know that I can't load the trailer with too much weight like before (7500lbs total weight) but that just means more delivery of material.

Not sure if your 07 has the same engine or a better one but I'm sure it will handle it. When I was shopping for trailers, I actually hooked them up and went for a test drive. I would test it out at the dealer, same as test driving a car. Some trailers are built better than others and you can tell the difference when towing.

good luck
