Default Higher Octane

I always use regular gas but the other day i put some premium in and wow what a difference. I have big tires and it was a lot easier to get the truck going with the premium. Just curious does everyone here use regular?

I used to use the premo stuff for road trips etc in my truck, and noticed a little more pep. But, when the fuel prices went up, I just got out of the habit.

The engine designed for 87 octane and that what the computer is looking for. It could be that you purchased gas that had less ethanol mixed in - so you felt better performance. The way that fuel/ethanol is mixed is not the best, but that thread is available elsewhere.

I'd pocket the price difference & buy synthetic oil for better lubrication.

exactly! even if the MPG is a little bit worse, the $ per mile is still cheaper
