Has anyone replaced the headlights in a 1999 H1 with HID lights ? I would like to do that and could use some advice on where to get the lights and what color is the best.

I like the light blue personnaly. I think purple is to much.

Starr HID has a HID projector lamp kit as well as Predator Motorsports. They are specially designed for the H1. They are expensive since they are proper DOT approved lights, and run around $1000.

I don't like the look of them personally, they make the lights stick out like *****.

Trucklite mades a 7" LED bulb upgrade for the H1 and also the Jeep. The military is or has switched over to these lights for all of their trucks, they look neat and throw off a lot of light. They run about $250/ea. Make sure you get a 12v version or a 12/24v dual voltage version. The 24v only versions will only work on the military trucks.

The colored bulb conversion kits aren't really true HID's, and IMO a waste of money. Depending on the state you can get ticketed for them if they're not installed correctly, especially if they are a funky color.
