Default Help please! 1996 Hummer H1 Stalling!

I have a 96 h1 that was becoming hard to start so I replaced the batteries but now I run it for a minute and it turns off on its own. When I did drive it it down my road about a half mile and brought it back it stalled on my driveway when I let off the gas. Any thoughts? Please help!

Do you have the gas, TD or NA motor?

Ok so it's a 1996 hummer h1 with a 6.5L v8 n/a diesel sorry I am new to owning this beautiful beast. So a little update, I replaced the batteries and it kept stalling even after I changed them after a minute or so. Does this thing have a security feature to cut the battery if the power has been cut?

Have you checked the filter in the lift pump? Have you checked the lift pump to see if it is working? Does it die after it has gotten warmed up or does it die when it is cold also? Did changing the batteries make a difference?

I have not checked the lift pump yet. It's doing it even with the battery change. So from a cold start its doing it at least that's when I am noticing it. The engine has not gotten above 160 and kept doing. If I can get it going it seems to stay going.

First guess is that it is a lift pump issue. Either it isn't getting power, dirty filter or the pump is kaput. Might also have a small crack in the fuel line and be getting some air in the system from time to time.
