Default HELP with frame compatibility.

Hello folks:

I need help with a major issue on a new to me 2008 H3 that I just bought with frame damage. The truck is a 2008 with the 3.7L engine and needs a new frame.

I was told that the Chevy Colorade/GMC Canyon trucks ride on the same chassis.

1) Can someone please confirm this? I called the dealer and they weren't much help.
2) If it's not the same frame, which one is it?

Thank you,

Samer

The H3 frame is NOT the same as a Chevy Colorade/GMC Canyon. You need a frame from an 08-10 H3. The frame on the 06-07 H3s are different also.

OOPS! Didn't see Halos response until after I posted. But the info above is still good!

I don't know how you guys come up with this stuff (especially Halo's) and this quick, but you guys are the best! I appreciate the replies.

I guess it's back to square 1 for me, and trying to find an actual H3 frame! Ouch!

I don't know if $8.5k for an '08 with 28,000 miles and in need of a frame, is considered a steel, but I do own it now and I have to fix it.

It's not mangled, as a matter of fact there is no body damage at all, as the truck was not in an actual crash but it rather had an encounter with a very hard object at it's passenger side front tow hook, which bent the frame in a diamond shape!

The recommendation by the body shop is to acquire a frame and swap it out. I might be able to "get away" with just swapping out the front section rather than the entire frame.
