I have a loud clunking noise i am experiencing in my 07 H3. It appears that the shaft is leaking grease from where it connects to the vehicle on the drivers side so I imagine that is the issue. It appears that there is a seal broken or that the axle has pulled away from the carrier a little.
First question: On the drivers side what is it that the half shaft connects to? On the passenger side it connects to the differential but not sure what it connects to on the passenger side.
How hard is it to replace the half axle in these and does someone have a copy of the service manual pages they can send my way to replace these? I found a full half axle online for about $100 which doesn't sound bad at all so I think I will order this and attempt to replace myself.

This was about a week after a group of us did a trail repair to a friend's H3 that blew out its half shaft (it was 16F and fingers were going numb as some of us took turns).
