Headlight Moisture
Have moisture in headlight, anyone know how to remove without taking headlight off.2008 with 52,00 miles. Took out extended warranty, from GM but says it dosnt cover lights.Took out warranty through Gm outlet.com,major gaurd,$50 deductable, Thanks
Check for a crack in the lens. If you dont find anything, check the seal around the bulb. Most of the h13 bulbs have a red/orange rubber gasket attached to them. Make sure it isnt dried out or broken. To get the moisture out, you can simply remove the bulb and spray compessed air into the opening where the bulb goes. Usually only a minute or two is all it takes.
If recommended steps still don't resolve, then suggest you pull out the assembly. It takes less than 15 minutes for the job.
Suggest you buy some silicone black sealant and apply generously around the entire edge of lens and housing.
I had seal issue after initial install of my halos. Problem solved after going back second time and being more generous witht the sealant.
Just because you don't see cracks doesn't mean they don't exist.
