H3 without spare tire (pic)
#21
I like it without the spare, I took mine off and created a plate for the rear. It looks a lot better (in my opinion without it) and if you pop the vent out you can install a plate. You can find 12"x24" steel plate (both flat and diamond plate) at Ace Hardware for cheap. Im going to be running 35" goodyear MTRs so the probablity of popping a tire (on road) is not likely. When I go off road Im gunna throw the spare in the rear cargo area. Loving the black!

murderedout53; I see your H3 often. I live in your town ;-) I clicked on the wrong profile (yours) and realized you live in my neck of the woods.
My H3 has been in the garage for about 8 months or so unfortunately. I see black H3's alot in our area so I must have seen yours at one point. I know there's one that is in my community I see all the time.
They both look great! I tried that at one point as well but ended up putting it back on.

I, also. want to remove my rear tire once and for all. Where can I get a kit to make mine look as clean and factory as the one you installed....or is this what it looks like if I remove the factory tire carrier? Is there a kit out there that makes it look like this?

There is no actual "kit" however if you go to Ace hardware you can find everything you need to make it happen. It does require a little bit of work (cutting, sanding, painting, drilling, etc) but I like the end result, not to mention is feels great to mod out an expensive truck with YOUR OWN HANDS

You can find everything at Ace Hardware. They sell 12"x24" steel plate (flat stock or diamond plate) for around $10-$20. You may want to paint it tho. I then cut and drilled it to fit. Use your spare tire carrier to mark your holes then mount it up!
