Default H3 Wisdom and guidance needed and appreciated

Greetings Hummer owners,

I just received my 2007 Black H3. It's a first car gift for my daughter who will be very excited (it's a total surprise). However, being new to Hummers there are a couple of questions I have regarding parts, etc.

1. Is there a place to find replacements part priced reasonably? I need the cup holder for the backseat (the part that flips out). One GM parts specialist wants about $120.00 and that seems real high for that part. I also need the cargo door cover for the jack. It's a smaller piece that is part of the cargo door panel.

2. The switch panel on the driver's door works fine. But, the lights are out. I have seen bulbs that appear to be for the driver's switch panel, but are those bulbs replaceable? If so, how is the best way to replace them? Door panel removal, etc.

3. This is odd (so, sorry). The H3 handles and runs perfectly. However, it looks to my eye and my reach that the steering wheel has about a 5 degree slant to the right, it seems slightly angled. Is that how it is? Is there an adjustment (other than the horizontal up/down adjustment)? Or, have I lost my mind and I am just growing disastrously old?

I am blessed to be able to do this for my daughter and I want it as perfect as it can be for her. Your first car is something special that you remember for the rest of your life. so, any advice or thoughts on owning an H3 would be appreciated.

Blessings!

cant help with other stuff but, impt, be aware of the BIG blind spot of the "a" pillar mainly the left, driver pillar.
it blocked my view as I was turning, early on, I side swiped a tree that was perfectly blocked from view as I turned. could have been worse, still cost me a $800 door!!

now I am used to it. its very tricky for a new driver

Welcome. I normally get my parts from gmpartshouse.com They are a sponsor on this forum and are very Hummer friendly. Do a search on the window switch lamp replacement. There have been a few that have attempted it. I have owned 3 H3's and the steering wheel was straight on all of them. This forum is a great resource. I suggest you review older posts and any questions you have will likely have already been discussed.

Thank you for the tip (my daughter will thank you, too). I noticed it was different when I drove it, but I am really liking the H3. Happy for my little girl.

I found the GMpartshouse through some diligent searching. I am glad I am on the right track. They don't have a listing for the cargo door piece, but maybe I can learn more on the phone. Good to know on the steering wheel, however it does lead me to think I need another set of eyes (my mechanic) look at it.

Our H3/H3Ts have the same steering wheel thing. It really isn't noticeable unless you look for it. GM didn't center it in front of the driver.

I'll have to check into the rear seat cup holder.

Congrats to your daughter on her new rig.

Cargo Door piece you are looking for the called the jack cover. Under Body Hardware go to Back Door, search under Part#Keyword Search "Jack Cover" It is under Interior Trim in the Back Door section. Item #7 $44.64.
