Is H3 Transmission noisy around 1800 rpms?
Did my first road trip yesterday from Boston to NYC. Hit some snow on the way back and was running between 50 and 60 mph. As I was running around 50-55 (rpms around 1800), the transmission seems louder than at other rpms. Is this b/c it wants to either downshift or go faster? Have others notice a bit morenoise at that speed / rpm - when running at steady speed?
By the way, the H3 was a champ in the snow (except for the wipers - see other post on that topic).
Thanks.

Don't know if I can tell the difference at any speed...Maybe keep an eye on it, or it could be your tires (normal for these tires to be somewhat noisy)..But I hear nothing coming from my tranny.
You'll have to be more specific as to how you hear it , where you hear it ..etc......If nothing else take it to your dealer and see if they can listen to it...

RE: Is H3 Transmission noisy around 1800 rpms?
I have done a fairly lengthy roadtrip once or twice a month for almost as long as I have had mine....I run it anywhere from 55-90 mph on these trips and do not notice anything any different at any of the speeds other than when I quickly accelerate it. Might want to have the dealer check it out.

No automatic. But imagine it was a manual and you were in the low end of 5th gear (rpms around 1800) - the engine or tranny sounds louder as your drop lower into the rpms, as if it wants to downshift or be accelerated.
