H3 shut down - Will not turn crank
I am VERY LUCKY!
Last night I take it to pick up my wife from work and half way there the lights are coming on again!
*Stab System Failure
*Reduced Power
every time I slowed down, it wanted to stall out. I figure well...I couldn't be so lucky.... must be a real issue after all. I limp home... open the hood and notice that they left a clamp lose and the intake was disconnecting from the manifold area. ( another lucky find, as it could have sucked a ton of dust into the engine if I kept going. )
Tightened it up..... put about 65-70 miles on it today and so far... so good.
No codes, no lights and running well.
Now, since I did so much reading, I am thinking about cleaning the the TB and MAF. What do you think? Worth it? From what I read it seems to make a big difference in all of the posts I see online. Or... do I walk away, count my blessings here and leave well enough alone? haha.
This was one hell of an experience. I never expected something with the TB to shut the truck down 100%. Not allow it to crank / turn over. But I guess that was the issue. Was really surprised with this one and got away easy.. very easy.

Thanks again for the help. Great advice as with the other guys here. This forum is really something every Hummer owner should have saved. Tons of knowledge and some great members. Thanks again!
I didn't know that a stuck throttle plate would cause a no crank problem. I just learned something. It makes sense. There are two resistors to measure throttle plate position. The resistors measure opposite to each other. When one reads 1volt the other reads 4volts and vise versa. Just guessing at the numbers. Usually when there are throttle position codes the PCM still sees movement in one, or both, of the resistors. The PCM would allow for limp mode operation. Your throttle plate was stuck so there was no change in the voltage and the PCM shut the engine down. When a code comes up, always remember to do a visual check of the item or system pertaining to the code.
The throttle body clean and MAF clean is a great idea. Just do a visual inspection to see if it is required.
