Default H3 Makes Screeching Sound On Sharp Turns

I have a 2009 H3 and I am noticing that it makes a screeching sound on sharp turns. Is this a power steering problem? Has anyone else experienced this on their H3?

Thanks in advanced for any comments!

Cool

Don't know what to tell you since you have given little information other than hard turning that causes this sound.

A lot of vehicles when locked (left or right turn) exibit this sound from the motors fan belt slipping on the pulleys because of the "Locked" wheel. I would possibly start with inspecting the fan belt and see if it is loose or cracked. Loose serpintine belts may cause a slipping and squeeling sound when steering is locked.

With out more info, that's my best guess for now

Would tires make such a noise? And how could one determine it is the tires? Thanks for your insights.

Yeah its definitely your tires, I have a 2009 h3 and when you make sharp turns its how the tire is touching the road and the weight shift. I kinda like it cause it sounds just like what you hear in the movies when they have the car chases plus I make my presents known when I turn at a traffic lights. To make sure it is your tires turn your wheel all the way and do a circle at very slow speed like crawling. If you dont hear it and as you speed up you hear it thats how you know for sure its the tires. If it squeaks at like 3-5 mph your hearing something different then me and maybe need to get it checked out by dealer.

or you could try turning on something other than asphalt like dirt or stone to see if it only makes the noise on asphalt.

Mine does the same thing ... its the tires on mine. Unless it sounds fluid/hydraulic ... then maybe ur power steering has an issue.
