True... We shouldn't compare Nissan Armada or a Maseratti to H3. But that wasn't my point...

If you compare H3 to other mid-size SUVs it's mpg is not out of ordinary(as others noticed). And yet, Hummer has this idiotic image of a gas guzzler where in fact it is not, H3 at least... My links only show that there are a lot of vehicles with much worse mileage. Eco-freaks however keep picking on H3. It just shows how stupid, ignorant and uninformed they are...

Cheers.

Don't get so excited buddy, That jeep in your link is a 6.1 8 cyl. (which means it has a LOT bigger engine than Hummers 5.3) in other words, your not comparing apples-to-apples.
My wifes Grand got 18-21 mpg which ain't all that bad (it had the 3.7 six cyl.)
When I googled H3 mpg this was the first thing to come up http://www.autotropolis.com/car.revi...ueleconomy.htm
I don't consider the mpg i'm geting in my H3 to be decent in ANY respect and I've NEVER seen 18 mpg in that thing.

I just got back from a trip down Hwy395 (Lone Pine to LA)and got 18 MPG!

Not too bad 70-75 MPH with lots of side and head winds and being fully loaded with camping gear.

I have a roof rack and had a highlift jack and shovel rack. My tires were at 45 psi for the hwy run.

No argument from me, I agree 100%. All the Eco-Terrorists still think "HUMVEE" when they think of Hummer. I really like my H3, mediocre gas milage and all. Heck, my TJ barely gets 14 mpg but I still love it!

Top Gear recently parked two midsized luxury station wagons in front of a pub frequented by Green Peace supporters. Both cars, one a AMG Mercedes, the other an M5 BMW get about the same MPG as a decent sized SUV. As was expected no passer-bys even batted an eye. Point being most people have no idea what they should b*tch about unless they are told.

I recently had a woman admonish me for driving an H3 (go figure, LA area). I explained that I actually do offroad, and the gas mileage is comparable to most other 4x4 SUVs. Her reply was, "Yeah, but it's a HUMMER!" So maybe people shouldn't drive Prius's because Toyota makes the Tundra?? Ugh!
