Exclamation H3 Front Windows Tint Problem

This is going to sound weird so bear with me. Here's a clarification so I am explaining this clearly;

Front Windows = the two front driver and passenger side windows in the front doors

Rear Windows = the rear driver and passenger windows in the doors and the rear window facing the rear of the truck

Had my H3 tinted all the way around (all windows). As many of us know, most H3s appear to have factory 'privacy' glass on the rear windows. Rear windows meaning all windows except for the (2) front windows and front windshield.

You have (2) choices when tinting, ADD tint to the front windows and match them to the privacy glass.... or tint the whole truck by adding darker tint on the front windows (since they dont have any factory tinting (non-privacy) and ADD lighter tinting to the rear windows because they have tinting already.

So I tinted all windows (except the front windshield) to better block out the heat and prying eyes. I am not sure about the percentage of shade but we selected the SAME line of SunTek film in a darker shade (for the front windows) and a lighter shade for the rear windows.

The problem is; LOOKING from the INSIDE of the truck to the OUTSIDE, has anyone tinted their H3 and noticed the front windows have a yellowish tint to them compared to the rear windows? Note; looking AT the truck from the OUTSIDE the tint all around appears normal and a similar shade.

ATTACHED IMAGE. Notice the sun hitting my interior panel. The front window diffuses yellowish light and the rear diffuses normal white/blue light from the outside.

We thought it was defective tint (aka a bad roll of film). I brought my H3 back to the tint shop and they redid the tint AGAIN with a brand new roll of Suntek tint and the yellowish tint is still there. When you look out the front windows everything has a yellowish tint to it. All the rear windows look normal and the tint reduces the light entering the vehicle. Remember, to match the tint all the way around the truck, the rear windows have a lighter tint on them (because they already had tinted privacy glass) and the front windows have a darker tint because they were clear from the factory.

The tint shop is at a loss for words and they assure me it's not a tint film problem. They claim the rear windows tint and privacy tint are causing the front window's tint to appear yellowish. Meaning, they believe the rear windows are displaying a unique color due to the tint color and the privacy glass making the front windows appear to be discolored or yellowish.

I am not sure how I feel about this situation. The shop was understanding and already replaced the tint without hassle. But I had someone in my truck and they remarked how my tint looks 'different' on the front and rear windows.

What I am trying to ask for anyone who FULLY (aka all the way around) tinted their H3s is;

To match up the tint all the way around your truck, what percentage or shade did you select on the front windows?

To match up the tint all the way around your truck, what percentage or shade did you select on the rear windows?

From the INSIDE looking OUT of your truck, did you observe any color differences from the front windows over the rear windows? Meaning, when looking OUT from INSIDE your H3, does all your surroundings appear in a similar shade?

I haven't done any tinting (so I know this isn't the answer you're looking for) but in the mean time, I don't really notice yellow from the picture.. definitely the front window appears to be letting more light in (as you cant even see the faux leather plastic effect on the door panel near the top in the front window).

Personally I'd say that the shop is at fault. Assuming their the experts they MUST have encountered similar situations.

I don't know a lot about tinting, can you untint ALL the windows and just start from scratch so theyre all the same? (Or is that going to be way to expensive and not worth it?).

Is the tint actually producing a yellow glow within the H3 or is it just the appearence of the film? If the light hitting it is causing everything inside to "look" yellow, that's a problem, and it's their fault in my opinion.

Good luck with this! (sorry, i know, not the reply you wanted!)

I tinted my front windows only, when I bought my H3. Don't know which % they used but from the outside, it looks almost identical to the factory rear tint. BUT...

I experience the same "problem" as yours, from the inside, the front windows have a yellowish/brownish tint to them. It doesn't bother me much but it's there. I aslo asked the shop about that, and they were clueless. My opinion is that the factory tint is done INTO the glass (meaning the material is tinted) whereas the front windows are clear (read GREEN) and adding the film adds a color that renders a yellow/brown tint... just my 2 cents...

On a side note, I don't see **** at night...! I have to roll down the front windows it i'm in tight place...

Wonder if it could also be the amount of light the front gets compared to the back. Cover the windshield up so no light is coming through it then see how noticeable it is. The back seats get very little light on them from the rear since the seat shield it and not much from the front since the front seats shield it.

It is the type of tint that makes a difference. I got some stuff called "Carbon Fiber" by some big time brand and it looks good.

Yes, all tint used on all windows on my truck is carbon fiber type.

I have had other vehicles with privacy glass on the rear windows and clear glass on the front windows.... but none have resulted in this situation.

I am not sure if it's;

the tint itself (even the second set of tint)
-OR-
the front windows glass
-OR-
the rear windows privacy glass with the tint causing a color or polarization issue.

And keep in mind;

If you ONLY ADDED tint to the front windows to MATCH the privacy glass in the rear then you would not have my situation where I am questioning the privacy rear glass with the tint installed. Meaning, I am unsure if the rear glass with the tint installed is resulting in a abnormal color shade or if this situation is being caused by something else.
