Seems like it was just yesterday that you were touting thesupremacy of the auto tyranny.. and now this?

Just to be fair, the downside to the Diesel motor is weight. A front heavy vehicle will perform differently off road, and the H3 is already a porker as it is.

Hopefuly it wont be long before the V8 is just another option. We'll probably never see it with a manual tranny because the I5 is at the upper limits of the A5's specs.

 

I also don't wheel my h3 that much because of the auto..if the h3 offered a 5 speed (or better yet a6 speed)that could tow as much as the auto I would have gotten it. But I had the jeep to wheel with so I didn't care about it that much. [8D]

I might like it a bunch, just have to see one off the road so to speak. I like the V8 moving out of exclusive Alpha territory.

Naw... will stick with the Alpha... besides, cant stand the wheels in that pic

 

Diesel power curve is different. The diesels aren't as "twitchy "at low speeds and rpms and IMO that makes them better to off-road.
