Default H3 Adventure Rear Locker Hack????

Does anyone know how to stop the rear locker from unlocking in 4low lock once you've hit a certain speed and to make it lock in 4hi lock as well?? I know some FJs with the autotrac hacked and working in 4low too, is this possible with the H3?

Hello and Welcome from MI.

Yes, it can be done with an extra switch, relay and some soldering. You will NOT be able to control it from your OEM switch.

Know anywhere to get details on how to get this done? I dont care about what switch i have to use i would just like to (in my opinion)fix what GM should have done from the factory.

It won't be covered under warranty if you do that, but you probably new that. Eaton does not recommend that even though they would sell you a new one if you do!

IMHO any type of obsticle/off road condition that you would actually need the locker for would never allow you to get going faster than the 20MPH cut out speed (without breaking chit anyway).

Lockers are for where the terraine will not allow use of momentum.

Still a good question, there are always some that think they just gotta hit that mud or dune at 30MPH+ wheel speed locked.

I do agree it is not necessary all the time, but when i found myself deeper than expected in a mud hole.....i would just get to moving a little bit and the locker would kick out and i wasn't moving again. Very frustrating when it could've worked great. I wouldn't mind leaving the locker alone if i could get the stabilitrac or whatever hummer calls it to work in 4low. I def don't wanna be breaking parts. I just need a how too......

Even at slower speeds in loose stuff no matter what transfercase position it definitely helps. Also great in snow and mud. I also have ben able to dissable the traction control as well for snow and sand wheeling. I have done the mod for the locker. I will try to find the packages for the OEM plugs with pigtails to give part numbers. You need wire in a switch to a 30amp relay to control the locker.
